National Conference
on Eating
Disorder Legislation
Thursday, June 30, 8 am-5 pm
People from all walks of life are coming
together this summer to change the way America looks at eating disorders.
We are meeting in Washington to create a dream bill, a document that
will become the federal model legislation to fight life threatening eating
disorders.
Be a part of this historic event! Show your
support! Share your ideas. And in the end, sign your name to this piece of
history.
The model legislation will include sections
on research, prevention and education, and treatment. It will include
specific directions for action within various parts of the federal
government. We will build upon the principles established at the First
National Conference on Eating Disorder Policy (2004) and add details for
various government actions.
Finally, you can sign your name to the
Declaration of Equality for People with Eating Disorders. Your
signature will become a permanent part of the document produced by this
conference and presented to the United States Congress.
In this conference, you will review past
eating disorder bills discover new federal funding priorities learn
from leading policy experts and help write a new, comprehensive "Eating
Disorder Dream Bill.
