Senate Bill Would
Overturn State
Mental Health Parity Laws
If enacted into law, the proposed "Health Insurance Marketplace
Modernization and Affordability Act" (HIMMA) would
repeal state laws that have been enacted
to ensure that consumers have access to adequate mental health benefits.

Researchers Respond!
Effective Treatment
for Eating Disorders
April 26, 2006 - The EDC hosted a Congressional Briefing at the U.S. Capitol,
focusing attention on a new report on eating disorders by the Agency for
Healthcare Research and Quality. The report addresses evidence-based
research on the efficacy of various types of eating disorder treatment.

In cooperation with Senator Pete Domenici (l.) and Rep. Patrick
Kennedy (r.), the EDC will host a Congressional Briefing April 26 at the
U.S. Capitol, focusing attention on the report and its significance for
national public policy.

in Washington, D.C., to raise awareness about eating disorders. The focus of

bill in the Senate.
