EDC Board Vacancy

Announcement

The Eating Disorders Coalition for Research, Policy & Action (EDC) seeks qualified individuals to apply for a position on the organization’s board of directors. The successful candidate will fulfill the remaining term of former board member Steve Emmett, ending December 31, 2008. A job description for the EDC board appears below.

The Eating Disorders Coalition for Research, Policy & Action is working in Washington, D.C., to increase awareness, educate policymakers, and promote understanding about the disabling and life-threatening effects of eating disorders. Our mission is to advance the federal recognition of eating disorders as a public health priority. Visit us on the Web at eatingdisorderscoalition.org.

In addition to the requirements listed in the job description, the EDC seeks to complement the current board with an individual with expertise in development (special events planning, grant writing) and/or business administration. All EDC board members are expected to actively assist in the organization's fund raising efforts. Candidates with no previous experience with eating disorders will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

This position may be filled either by an individual unaffiliated with an EDC member organization, or by a representative of a 2007 EDC member group.

Apply by e-mail to the EDC Board of Directors at manager@eatingdisorderscoalition.org by June 11, 2007, 11pm Pacific.
