The EDC
honors the memories of people who have died from eating disorders by
displaying the Eating Disorders Memorial Quilt. The names, dates, and images
on the quilt remind viewers of the deadly effects of eating disorders and of
the lives that have been lost.
This quilt
is displayed at EDC events such as annual meetings, press conferences, and congressional
briefings. When not on public display, the quilt hangs in the EDC office one
block from the U.S. Capitol.
Quilt
Coordinator Millie Plotkin leads the project by collecting panels, stitching
them together, and gathering personal information for the quilt's archival
files. It is a perfect fit for the eating disorder activist and professional
librarian.
