EDC membership is a way for your organization to tell us what is important to you. Bringing legislative attention to eating disorders issues is what we do - and we do it well.
Joining the EDC is also a way for your organization to express its priorities to Congress. Your name on our letterhead is a vote for better research, more comprehensive insurance coverage, and better lives for eating disorders patients.
The EDC is honored to include in our coalition a broad range of organizations: large and small ones, profit and nonprofit, clinicians and affected people – bringing every kind of stakeholder concern to the table in Washington. An EDC membership isn’t a single vote for change, it is a collective of voices that includes everyone your organization serves.
We pride ourselves on our many accomplishments in Congress, including our part in passing the Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act in Congress on October 3, 2008. Much of our energy is now dedicated to passing the Federal Response to Eliminate Eating Disorders ACT, the first ever comprehensive eating disorders bill in the history of Congress, and we need your support to pass it during the 111th Congress.
We invite your organization to join our coalition for eating disorders advocacy. Membership is available at the following levels of commitment:
*The Practitioner Circle is reserved for individual therapist, dietitians and other professionals committed to the mission of the Eating Disorders Coalition
